Part of a well-established Spanish chain, Casa del Llibre is a general bookstore that offers an assortment of titles, including some fiction in English. Glossy coffee-table tomes on a range of Barcelona themes – and thus with good gift potential – sit by the front right-hand entrance.
This long-standing Barcelona book shop is part of the Casa del Libro chain, which is the cultural showcase for the Planeta Publishing Group (though they sell books by all publishing houses). The shops are also important cultural forums where they hold conferences, round tables, book openings and press releases for poets and writers. The shop is an enormous 1200m2 - there are two entrances on Passeig de Gràcia and one on València. There is a cafeteria as well, and a great place to while away the hours.
